Syracuse Newspaper Obituary stated:
" Christian Bailer, 89 year-old retired grocer and native of Germany died at his home,
1336 South State Street. He had resided in this country 71 years. Prior to his retirement in 1913, Mr. Bailer operated a store at South State and East Castle sts. 33 years." Christian was trained as a cabinet maker in Germany before emigrating to the United States. He built a cabinet in Dora and Charles Bailer's home in Otisco.
