9.  FRED⁵ BAILER (JOHANN⁴, BASIL³, CHRISTIAN², JOHANN¹) was born October 18, 1879 in Dutch Hill, New York⁶, and died September 15, 1968 in Syracuse, New York⁶.  He married LUELLA HOBART May 23, 1907 in Otisco, New York, daughter of DIX HOBART and MARY TUFFLEY.  She was born October 17, 1884 in Vesper Hill, New York⁷, and died October 03, 1966 in Syracuse, New York.

Children of FRED BAILER and LUELLA HOBART are:

              ii.   DALE BAILER, b. January 22, 1922, Navarino, NY; d. January 29, 1959, Syracuse, NY; Adopted child; m. MURIEL ANN MAAS.

Article from the Tully Times issue of May 25, 1907

"On Thursday, May 23, at 2:30 p.m. Rev Willis Bailey united in marriage Miss Luella Hobart and Mr. Fred Bailer. The ceremony was performed at the bride's home immediately after which dinner was served. Mr. Edward Bailer, brother of the groom, acted as best man and Miss Dora Hobart, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid.

Mr. and Mrs. Bailer left for a short trip to New York. Before leaving they were liberally showered with rice. The happy couple were presented with many handsome and useful presents.

Mr. and Mrs. Bailer will make their future home in Otisco."

Also in the same paper it noted, "Miss Luella Hobart and Fred Bailer were married Thursday at the home of Henry Tuffley."

It appears as though there is a discrepancy between the two articles. The first states that they were married at the bride's home and the second states they were married at the home of Henry Tuffley. Both statements are actually correct as Luella's mother, Mary Tuffley Hobart, left her abusive husband and she and her children moved back home to live with Mary's father, Henry Hobart.
